After a 3-year period in the late 90’s, gospel music’s most glorious event returns to Nashville, TN January in 2006. The 21st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will once again grace the stage of the historic Grand Old Opry on January 21. For the past 2 years, this star-studded celebration has been held in Houston, Texas, but increasing needs for a bigger and a more production friendly facility eventually led to one of the music industry’s most famous venues.

"I am extremely excited about the opportunity we have once again to produce the Stellar Awards in Nashville at the Grand Old Opry, which is one of the best production facilities in the country for major award shows like the Stellar Awards,” explains Don Jackson, CEO of Central City Productions. “I am also most appreciative of the fine support we received from the City of Houston Texas, which was the home for the Stellar Awards for the past two years. The community of Houston was a tremendous fan of the Stellar Awards; however we needed a better production facility in which to produce our show. The Grand Old Opry production venue in Nashville provides us with the top of the line facilities which will enable us to continue the high production quality that Gospel Music deserves."

Gospel artists CeCe Winans, Vickie Winans and Israel will serve as co-hosts for the 2006 awards ceremony. Nominees and performers will be announced in November at the annual press conference which will be held in Nashville, TN. More information on the press conference’s date, location will be announced in the near future.

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards show is executive produced by Don Jackson, produced by Barbara Wilson for Central City Productions. Founded in 1970 by Don Jackson, Chicago-based Central City Productions is a distributor of original programming to television and cable networks. Missouri Gospel Announcers Guilds Event To Support Storm Victims a Huge Success

The effort to support the victims of hurricane Katrina was a great success for the Missouri Gospel Announcers Guild, news media radio announcers and station representatives, and gospel artist filled the auditorium of the Missouri Gospel Announcers Guild headquarters to come together and be a blessing to those that have relocated to the Missouri area. KTVI FOX 2 news dropped in to do what was to be a quick story about the effort but decided to stay the whole evening and do their 9:00 PM News broadcast from the location. As gospel music filled the air it was hard for them to leave such a jubilant celebration and welcoming.

Chuck Spearman, president of the Missouri Gospel Announcers Guild said this is one of many efforts that would be sponsored by the guild across the state of Missouri. its time that we showed on the gospel side, just as much love and concern that's being shown on the secular side. The news is filed daily with what other artist are doing and contributing and I think there are enough artist across the country that each one can do something towards and this effort, and St. Louis proves you don't have to be a national artist to put forth an effort of support. but with as many national artist that are doing "very well in gospel", I'M sure they are in the process of doing something, I know other Gospel Announcers Guilds across the country are planning similar efforts and will be responding in the same manner. Their is an urgent need right now- because the need is immediate, there isn't time for planning of MEGA concerts next month . there are enough national artist that have drawing power, that each one can host a concert in every major area within the next 7 days its time for everyone to give back . This effort was also supported by Pastor Harold Rodgers of the New Jerusalem M. B. Church and Jean Smith.

We were blessed by the music ministries of the M and M Brothers - IMAJ - Tierra Jefferson - Insight _ Faye Mosby - Billie Neal - Steven Harold - New Jerusalem M. B. Church Choir and others.

Most of you wont know these names. These artists are all on independent small record labels that wanted to be a blessing to support this effort. We have faxed major record labels and at this time are waiting on a response to any effort they may want to consider as relief in the area that we can support.
