NASHVILLE, Tenn., (August 14, 2013) - Chanel Haynes of Trin-i-Tee 5:7 launches her solo debut with her new CD Trin-i-tee 5:7 According To Chanel
set for release fall 2013. The CD, released on her newly formed label,
Obsidian Records, is distributed in partnership with Central South
Distribution. The 12-song disc features the signature contemporary
Gospel/Urban sound of Trin-i-tee 5:7, but for the first time, spotlights
Chanel as a solo artist, songwriter, and producer on the project, which
she produced with Darion Dorsey.
"I am truly excited about
this album for so many reasons," said Chanel. "The CD is personal to me
because it's the first album where I was able to write and perform songs
that were 100% "Chanel," and every single decision came from me and my
company. It reminds me that I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me. I feel so blessed and empowered to be an example to
young artists who carry God- inspired dreams in their hearts."
Due out fall 2013, Trin-i-tee 5:7 According To Chanel
includes 12 tracks penned by Chanel reflecting her perspective and
interpretation of Trin-i-tee 5:7's music. It's the familiar Trin-i-tee
5:7 sound fans have loved over the years, but now with a blossoming
Chanel on all lead vocals as a solo artist, reflecting her unique sound
and musical creativity.
"Every song on this CD comes
from a joyful or memorable time in my life," explained Chanel. "Songs
like 'Masterful,' 'Live,' 'Believe,' and 'You,' are all songs that are
carved right out of my heart and soul. Each song only has one word as
its title because I wanted to make sure that the focus is where it's
supposed to be - on the music and lyric."
Chanel also takes on the new
role as label head, with the launch of Obsidian Records, which is the
imprint for her new CD. The label is exclusively distributed by Central
South Distribution. "I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with the
excellence of CSD and longtime mentor and friend, Vicki Lataillade,"
commented Chanel.
Central South Distribution
is honored to work with Chanel. "Chanel is one of my babies; I have
worked with her since she was 19, as my third significant signing at
Gospo Centric with a group that was put together for me... Trin-i-tee
5:7, a name I came up with while sitting at my desk in our first office
in the garage," said Lataillade, chief marketing officer at Central
South Distribution. "Chanel was an amazing talent then and even more so
now. I am so proud of her endeavors as an entrepreneur, and I know she
will do well! Congrats Chanel!"
"I'm looking forward to this
new chapter in my career, taking the wisdom and strength I've gathered
over the years to create something I am excited to share with my fans,"
said Chanel. "Trini-i-tee 5:7 According To Chanel will hopefully
show who I am as an individual singing and writing the music I know and
love. I hope this album will refresh fans and inspire listeners to live
an abundant life for the Father."
