Cincinnati, OH August 15, 2013
– The Midwest Region Black Family Reunion will commemorate 25 years of
existence this weekend. Beginning on Friday, August 16th and closing on
Monday August 19th, this year’s activities are sure to draw a huge
crowd!
Kicking
off the celebration on Friday at 8:00am will be the Heritage Breakfast
featuring national recording artist, Minister Byron Cage as the Key Note
Speaker. Continuing on that day will be the Target Job Fair at the
Sharonville Convention Center from 11:00am - 3:00pm. The Black Family
Reunion Celebration Parade will take place on Saturday, August 17th
leading up to the R&B Concert at Riverfront Park featuring Lakeside.
There will also be events for all ages including health screenings and
programs for youth and adults down at the park.
The
festival will continue on Sunday with the Gospel Concert featuring Kurt
Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers. Also set to perform on the stage are
local artists Speak Life, TyShawn Colquitt, Shantel Hankerson, Fly Boy,
Fo’ Mo Brothers, Heavenly Messengers of Cincinnati, The Word of
Deliverance Mass Choir, New Harvest, New Jerusalem Baptist Church,
Rodney Posey, and Pastor Jonathan Dunn. During the concert, there will
also be the 2013 Family of the Year Presentation. The concert will be
hosted by the gospel trio, Christopher, and will take place at Sawyer
Point beginning at 3:00pm.
The
weekend celebration will come to a close with the Black Family Reunion
members volunteering at the Cincinnati Reds Game against the Arizona
Diamondbacks on Monday night.
