Kandra
Albury’s children’s book “Don’t You Dare Touch Me There!” is now available
wherever books are sold. The colorful, rhyming and adventurous book empowers
children to stand up for themselves and to tell when someone is touching them
inappropriately. In the back of the book, is a Promise to Tell and Listen agreement for the child and parent/guardian to sign after reading the book. “Don’t
You Dare Touch Me There!” will allow children and their parents to have some much
needed dialogue around this sensitive yet important topic.
“Sexual abuse crosses racial lines, gender
and socioeconomic level,” said Albury. “This book helps give children of all races
and backgrounds the courage they need to be heroes by standing up for
themselves and telling when someone makes them feel uncomfortable or if someone
is hurting them.”
Albury also address
the topic of sexual abuse in her memoir, “From Food Stamps to Favor. In her triumphant story, she shares how she
transitioned from a life stricken by poverty to discovering her truths,
passions, purpose and the favor of God. She speaks in detail about how growing
up on the system shaped her life and drove her success. Her story tells of a
woman of faith and strength who refused to fall prey to her circumstances.
When Albury found
herself walking in her mother’s shoes as a divorced mom of two at 27, she
resorted to her mother’s endearing example of determination, wisdom and love to
beat the odds. She turned to her grandparent’s legacy of faith and perseverance
to help her daughter overcome the abuse she faces at the hands of her father.
Albury eventually realizes that she was created to conquer, made to master and
born to beat the odds.
Kandra Albury was
