Melba Moore is "Still Standing"



Lights, Camera, Action Chicago set the stage for Tony-Award Winner, Actress, & Singer Melba Moore as she launch her ten city tour mentoring youths and her life story musical “Still Standing”

Melba Moore Inc. “Presents” a movement built from life experiences to provide empowerment and self-confidence you can “Still Stand” through it all.

Chicago Illinois, June 2016: As Dionne in the original cast of the Broadway Musical Hair, Matron "Mama" Morton in Chicago Tour, Eliza Mae Wilson in the Jackie Wilson Story, Grammy Nominee Melba Moore, set to grace the windy city. Melba Moore will team up with the Kroc Center Chicago located at 1250 West 119th Street Chicago, Illinois on Saturday June 25, 2016 from 2:30PM - 4:00PM. Melba will host a free youth monologue workshop to educate ages 11-18 on how to deliver a strong and successful cold read monologue. Elements covered will be comprised of voice control, body language, acting tips, creating a back story and how to present themselves during an audition for acting and or singing. The hands on workshop will give each participant an opportunity to display their talent and be critiqued by Melba Moore. In addition, at the end of the workshop each participant will receive a Certification of Excellence from Melba Moore Inc.

When the question was asked to Melba why Chicago to launch the workshop and your life story “One Woman Musical “Still Standing” she replied “I have great friends in Chicago that have supported my career and I have supported them. At the end of the day I am an educator. I earned my B.A. degree in music from Montclair University. While teaching at Peshine Elementary School the passion grew within for me to encourage youths to overcome the many challenges and inspire them to dream big. Now that I have overcome my own life challenges I want to tell the world my life story in my one woman musical Still Standing. In addition, I want to give back to the youths in Chicago and communities around the world by educating and or introducing the performing arts as an outlet to express themselves and showcase their talents”.

Fans can see her perform at Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church for their Men’s & Women's Day Pre-Celebration on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 5:30PM located at 7848 S. Normal Ave. Chicago, IL. Her life story musical will launch on Friday August 12th, 2016 at the Kroc Center at 7:30PM.
