{A Mother-Daughter Inspirational Music duo!}

There have been many family recording music ministries but they’ve came in the packages of either husband-wife, any combination of cousins, brothers or sisters and even a Dad and his daughters and sons. But a first is on the horizon in contemporary Gospel/Urban music. Introducing a mother-daughter team!

Discovery and Achievements:

Adventurous, Creative, Inspirational, Empowering and Life-changing is a respectable way to sum up World Rise Above’s music ministry. WORLD RISE ABOVE, a very dynamic group that has touched many; consist of mother and daughter, Rochelle Payne & Diva Payne both Evangelists.
Their discovery began March 26th, 2011 from an experience that changed both lives of mother and daughter. While performing at an event, “The Healing/Peace Of Boston”, that took place at the Strand Theater, the group ministered a song that made the audience both leap for joy and appeal to their music.
Being both astonished and excited for the soon-to-be inspirational artists, an on-looker, Emmanuel Payne, husband of Rochelle and father of Diva, decided to take mother and daughter to the studio to record their heartfelt song and from there music became a habit for the ministry.
From recording and performing gospel music, they have also ventured to genres such as pop, rock, soul, country, smooth jazz and hip-hop (all of which consist of a positive theme). WORLD RISE ABOVE won 2 awards for Leading Light of the Year and Best Gospel Artist recently for the Alliance for Community Media in Pittsburgh, PA. Their motto is ‘Clean Music Is Good For The Soul’.

Our Purpose:

“We are not just another group trying to put on a show but we’re here to save and touch souls through our music. God has predestined a divine calling on the human race and it’s up to us to respond. We respond through our music.”
According to 18-year old DIVA, “Our objective is to know at least one life has breathed easier because this ministry has existed as an effective guideline to have helped taught and led someone to the path of Christ.”

Their new hit gospel album and title track share a concept to inspire and motivate. “Can’t Back Down” has a compelling catchy tune with a plan to crossover to various genres of music. All songs on the album were written by DIVA. She along with mom, intends to target the broken hearted who are receptive to what they can be in Christ. Their vision is to help restore/mend and give hope.
“It’s not just another music album– It’s life’s experiences,” says DIVA PAYNE. “From the intense lyrics, to the singing, and rapping, you can feel the movement of God. The world as a whole has withered tough experiences. We can truly feel the pain and hurt but this is where the CAN’T BACK DOWN Album will come into play and help heal the wombs. CAN’T BACK DOWN is definitely an album I know everyone is going to relate to. We’ve all had those one or two persons from time to time who have tried to discourage us from trusting in the divine destiny God had in store for our lives but something within kept pushing us towards excellence and that’s what this whole music album is about – perseverance.”
A key lyric from the leadoff single cries out, ‘stay in the fight don’t let go - through the highways and byways don’t let them break your flow.’ It’s one of the many anthems to our youth.

Overcame Challenges And Bright Future:

Some have accused them for impersonating themselves as a mom-daughter group when most think they are really sisters.
As for challenges we face as a mother-daughter duo, “Promoters thought it would be neither appealing nor appropriate for a mom and daughter to minister through song on stage together,” says ROCHELLE. “The promoters would say we’d gain more acceptances if we were sisters.” Both add: “When God laid the foundation for this ministry He did it for the both of us– not just one.” They also emphasize how they want to positively impact people from all walks of life with their music leaving no culture, person or place out. According to DIVA, “Jesus went beyond the church walls.”
As a teenager preaching and musically ministering for the Lord, certainly DIVA has seen a full share of struggles in her peers. “Indeed, I do see a daily struggle the youth are undergoing particularly in their faith. The youth are sometimes just confessing with their mouths they accept and want God in their lives but they’re challenged to confessing it with their hearts and souls.” She continues, “Now we have certain school systems rejecting what you believe but though I see a struggle in the youth I see a FIGHT in their eyes more so! – not to give up and that’s where we come in.”
“Two is better than one. We are dependent on each other even on stage” says ROCHELLE.
“We’re taking music to a whole different level and expressing to the world how we can live in harmony” says DIVA.
They have been on various TV shows such as The Word Network, Boston Neighborhood Network and concert stages spreading the good news. They are prime and ready to appear at workshops, concerts, conferences, conventions and more! DIVA, though still a teenager, has many sermons under her belt and available on DVD.
Together, this group is breaking down barriers, tearing down walls and preaching to the world to rise above.
Book WORLD RISE ABOVE NOW to musically perform on stage or preach God’s uncompromised Word!
