Motown Gospel Star Wows Top Music Executives and Media As The Only Gospel/Inspirational Act Billed On Universal Music Group Showcase
Los Angeles (Jan. 26, 2014) — ‎Gospel superstar Tye Tribbett celebrates his first Grammy® wins ever with 'Best Gospel Song' ("If He Did It Before...Same God") and 'Best Gospel Album' ("Greater Than") victories at the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards®, as seen via live broadcast on Sunday, Jan. 26.
The announcements, which directly followed Tribbett's charming time slot as a key presenter for the Grammy® telecast hosted by pop superstar Cyndi Lauper, came as the latest recognition the gospel hit-maker has received for the outstanding contributions listed aboard his inaugural Motown Gospel release.
Industry executives and media alike were wowed by his showing as the only gospel/inspirational act at the Universal Music Group Annual Showcase just a day prior. Collectively, the achievements mark a slew of wins for Tribbett who also took home tropies for 'Male Vocalist of the Year' at the 2014 Stellar Awards (his fifth overall) and his first 'Best Gospel/Inspirational Performance' win at the 2013 Soul Train Awards.
The album's lead single 'If He Did It Before...Same God' rests at #8 this week on the Hot Gospel Songs charts as it celebrates its 47th week aboard the tally.
