Dorsey Project which primary goal is to preserve the legacy of his beloved grandfather while also protecting the image, works, and reputation of Thomas A. Dorsey.  Recently the project garnered support from Grammy, Dove and Stellar Award winning recording artist Donald Lawrence who issued a statement about how Thomas A. Dorseyprofoundly impacted his career (http://mi2n.com/press.php3?press_nb=174536).  In July 2014, actress and comedienne Kim Colescelebrated Dorsey’s life, triumphs and accomplishments on Quiztory, which is a new app that is part trivia and part history (http://www.spreaker.com/user/quiztory/tdiq-7-1-kim-coles).  The project was also featured on All Christian News, a website for Christians which focuses on those who subscribe to the faith (http://allchristiannews.com/new-initiative-launches-to-promote-legacy-of-the-innovator-of-gospel-music).

Delighted to be participating in this year’s event Thomas A. Dorsey III stated, “Many of my fondest childhood memories are of me being at my grandfather’s side mimicking him as he directed choirs from across the country during the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses, Inc.  I have always known that my grandfather was responsible for planting the seed which became the gospel music movement.  I’m awe inspired by how the seed he sowed has become a vast forest that provides creative outlets for aspiring and seasoned artists, economic opportunities for many associated with the genre, and most importantly spiritual substance to those in need.  I’m so excited to be attending the 2014 NCGCC because the Dorsey Convention was where gospel music began a national assent which has achieved worldwide recognition.”
