Fountain of Life Records Celebrates Rev Clay Evans at 90

For over 60 years, Rev Clay Evans has been a main staple of the church and Gospel music. A native of Brownsville, Tennessee, Evans relocated to Chicago, the mecca of Gospel music, answered the call to ministry in 1950 and organized the Fellowship Baptist Church in 1958.   The What a Fellowship Hour radio and television outreach fast became a Chicago tradition and brought the ministry of Rev Clay Evans and the Ship into the homes of  countless people across the globe.  Together with the Fellowship Choir,  some 30 albums were released and he and the choir have appeared in churches and concert halls around the US as well as abroad.
This weekend, friends and well wishers will gather in Chicago to celebrate Rev. Evans and his sister, Dr. LouDella Evans Reid (who served as Fellowship's minister of music for 5 decades)  on the eve of their 90th and 85th birthdays.  "Reverend Clay Evans is a religious icon", says master producer/songwriter and Fountain of Life Records CEO (and nephew) Pharis Evans, Jr.  "He is an inspiration to so many.  A man of great wisdom, candor and great humor, he motivates us to keep moving and trust God with everything.  At 90, he can go into any church, anywhere on the planet on any given Sunday and simply say, "My, My, My" or "Can I get a witness" and the church will go in. We celebrate him for his tenacity, consistency and the drive the Lord gives him to continue the work in the vineyard."
The signature sound of Rev. Evans fronts All My Help, the new single from Pharis Evans' 2 disc release entitled Due Season, available at iTunes and other online retailers.  Plans are underway for a special commemorative disc featuring the early recordings of Rev. Clay Evans and the Fellowship Choir digitally remastered and presented for the first time on CD as well as a never before released track scheduled for an August release.
