Sunday Best Season 5 Fan Favorite and Fountain of Life Recording Artist Ashford Sanders is set to entertain and "have people to experience a little Jesus in the theater" as he joins the cast of Richard Torrence's uplifting musical stage play, Lord Why Can't I Do Right. "They have really done it now", exclaims Sanders. "First we released my single, and I was good, then I had the song service in IHOP, didn't know they would tape it and it would hit 4 million views, I'm good in the sense that all you have to do is give me a place to sing, but NOW I get a stage, lights, and a band??? You need to watch out and then pray when the music starts I'm able to stay in character. Real talk, we are REALLY going to have a great time."
The musical stageplay follows the lives of two brothers who after life altering experiences join forces to start a church, one for the right reason and the other with less than upright intentions. In the middle of the fast paced unfolding series of events there is love and laughter, joy and pain and tragedy and triumph. Music and faith serves to animate the plot bringing the story to life. Joining Sanders in this musical drama are Beauty Shop creator Shelly Garrett, comedian Don DC Curry and Steve Harvey Hoodie Award winner Dee Dee Simon.
